Wiggling Fish
I remember my grandmother’s hand
In mine,
Warm as the summer sun.
Her voice soft and sweet as
Tenderly sewing my shawls,
and the moccasins she made for me,
were the most beautiful of all
The day the Great Spirit gathered up,
My grandmother’s spirit,
In His great hand like a small dove,
and took her away.
A soft summer rain fell in my eyes

Thank you Grandmother,
Your Granddaughter,
Wiggling Fish
