Thomas American Horse
I went across the Big Water
And met the Great White Mother.
I danced and rode my best horse,
In the strange land.

With quirts in our hands,
And loud war cries,
We rode our horses as fast as we could,
So close to where they stood,
They felt the hot breath of our ponies in their faces
Their eyes grew big with fear.

But my eye hungered for the hills,
Near my home.
I longed to dance on the grass of my father.
To tell and retell the stories of the strange
Land and the strange people
